About
The name is a job description.
Keystone Sites is a web design studio in Vaughan. We build sites for businesses in any industry — trades, clinics, restaurants, law firms, studios, shops — and then we look after them.
Why we called it that
The stone that puts everything else under load.
A keystone is the wedge-shaped stone at the very top of an arch. It goes in last, after every other stone is already sitting there doing nothing much. The moment it drops into place, it pushes outward against both sides and locks the whole span together. Take it out and the arch is just a pile of rock.
Your website is that piece. The ad you paid for lands on it. The referral checks it before calling. The Google result points at it. The person who heard your name at a job site types it into their phone at eleven at night. Every other thing you spend money on to get found passes through one page, and that page decides whether any of it was worth it.
Which is the whole business point. Most owners treat the site as one line item among many. It is the one the others rest on. If it loads slowly, looks like it was built a decade ago, or cannot be found for the thing you actually do, you are paying full price for marketing and collecting part of it. That is the problem we build against — the four things we do all point at it.
Who does the work
An engineer's rigour, a designer's eye.
The person building your site
Keystone Sites is a small studio, and small is deliberate. The work is done by someone who came to design through engineering — which mostly shows up in the unglamorous parts. Pages are built by hand rather than assembled from a page builder. Load times get measured, not guessed at. Headings, links, and markup are structured so search engines and screen readers both know what they are looking at.
The design half is the part you actually see: typography that reads cleanly on a phone in daylight, restraint with colour, and layouts where the next thing you should do is obvious. Both halves matter. A beautiful site that takes six seconds to load loses people before they see it, and a fast site that looks cheap loses them right after.
What that means for you
You are not handed to a junior after the sale. The person on the discovery call is the person writing the code, so nothing gets lost being relayed. When you ask why a section is laid out a certain way, you get the actual reason.
It also means we take on a limited number of builds at a time. If we are booked out, we will say so and give you a real date rather than starting your project and letting it drift. You can see the kind of work this produces on the work page.
How we work
Direct, and boringly predictable.
You talk to the person building it
No account managers, no ticket queue, no game of telephone between you and whoever is actually doing the work. One email address, one phone number, same person every time.
Fixed price, fixed launch date
Both are agreed before anything starts. The number on the quote is the number on the invoice. If the scope genuinely changes because you want something new, we price that separately and you decide — it never appears as a surprise at the end.
Two rounds of changes, built in
You see real pages on a live link, not screenshots in a slide deck. Two full rounds of feedback are part of every build, at every tier. They are not an upsell and they are not rationed.
It does not end at launch
Every build includes 30 days of care free, so nothing lapses the week after you go live. After that, care plans start at $49 a month and you can leave whenever you want. You own the domain, the files, and the content either way.
Where we work
Vaughan roots, clients anywhere in Canada.
We are in Vaughan and a good share of the work is across the GTA — Toronto, Markham, Richmond Hill, Brampton, Mississauga. Being local helps when a business is chasing local searches, because we know which neighbourhoods people actually name when they go looking for a plumber or a dentist or a place to eat.
But the work itself happens on calls, over email, and on a shared link you can open any time. A build in Halifax runs exactly the same as one in Woodbridge: same discovery call, same fixed price, same two-to-three week launch window, same care plan afterwards. Distance does not add hours, so it does not add cost.
The one thing that changes with location is the SEO work, and only because the searches change. A single-location shop gets one set of local signals; a business covering several cities gets pages built for each. That is a scope difference, not a travel surcharge.
